INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. This is a long tutorial, so grab a cup of whatever and let's begin! Open new white canvas 600Wx700H. You can resize later.

  2. Path Drawing Tool - elipse - use skin color (I used #efbda5) - draw a shape approx 85x105.Grab your paintbrush, color black, size 1, and shift + p to paint on edges. Deselect.

  3. Select your airbrush, color a rosy pink, size 55, soften 75 and spot two cheeks on face, using paint as object tool. Dab several times until you get desired color depth. Right click select all objects and merge as single object.

  4. Path Drawing Tool - custom shape B25- brownish color, draw shape approx 8x19 and then use transform tool and rotate right 90 degrees. Duplicate this shape and place one on each side of face for eyes.

  5. Path Drawing Tool - rounded rectangle - skin color - draw a shape approx 32x48 for the neck. Click on paintbrush, make sure color is black again and size 1 and POE. (Shift + p). Move up to head and right click, arrange and send to back. You can now merge as single object if you want at this point.

  6. Path Drawing Tool - custom shape - S38 - yellow color (#fff878) or your desired color - draw out a shape approx 336 x 145. Duplicate this, transform tool - flip horizontally. Place one wing on each side, send to back and don't forget to POE! Now duplicate this figure and transform tool again, flip vertically. Resize this one a little smaller, send to back and arrange with the other wings.

  7. Path Drawing Tool - Custom Shape - B21 - green color (#b6f676) or your desired color - draw a shape approx 104x98 - POE - transform tool - rotate clockwise about 20 degrees. Duplicate this and flip horizontally. Don't worry about placement now as we need to make the neckline of the dress first.

  8. Path Drawing Tool - custom shape- FR63 - yellow color - draw a shape approx 169x119 and place in center of neck for top part of dress. You can now arrange your sleeves, making sure they are in back of neckline. Do not POE at this time.

  9. Just a note, anytime I say to POE, make sure you click on paintbrush and that the color is black and size set to 1 and then you can shift + p.

  10. Path Drawing Tool - custom shape - B13 - yellow color - draw a shape approx 220 x 155. Arrange, send to back. This is the middle part of the dress. Do not POE on this piece yet either.

  11. Path Drawing Tool - Custom Shape - FR63 - yellow color - this will be the bottom flounce on the apron part of the dress. Draw a shape approx 300 x 185. Move this up to the dress. Now select all three parts of the dress, (not the sleeves, just the yellow parts) and right click, merge as single object. Now you can POE. In my example, I made a mistake and did a POE on the first top part of the dress. However, if you like this effect, you can do the same!

  12. Path Drawing Tool - Custom Shape - B29 - green color - we are going to make the bottom part of the dress. Draw a shape approx 300 x 215, transform tool and flip vertically. Arrange and send to back. POE.

  13. Back to the flesh color we are going to make the arms and feet. Path Drawing tool - custom shape B25 - draw out a shape approx 70 x 150. Using transform tool, adjust the angle of the arm, duplicate this, flip horizontally, place one on each side of sleeve, and don't forget to POE! Now, I messed up again somewhere along the way! LOL, you need to make sure the arms are in front, but underneath the green puffs of sleeve, which I should have done a long time ago before merging the whole dress! So I just used the eraser and erased the little part of the arm on top of the sleeve! FORGIVE ME!

  14. Okay, now that we are through that let's make the feet. Using flesh color again, Path Drawing Tool and shape - elipse, draw out a shape approx 40 x 65.You can use your transform tool and tilt a little, POE, then duplicate this shape and place one on the other side. Send to back behind green bottom part of dress. Now you can right click, select all objects and merge as single.

  15. Now we are going to add the squiggly lines in the dress. Grab your Line & Arrow Tool - spline setting is easiest for me, width hairline and make a series of lines and squiggles down the dress. I made some on top and on the bottom.

  16. We are finally down to adding the basket of flowers. Using Outline Drawing Tool - elipse, black, width 3 -draw a shape approx 138 x 78. Now we have to get our eraser and erase the bottom half of the handle and place it behind the hands. Using Path Drawing Tool - custom shape B46 - color whatever you want for your basket, draw a shape approx 183 x 75, flip vertically and place up by handles. POE.

  17. Grab your Line & Arrow Tool again, color black, hairline width, and draw some "stems" out from the basket and hanging down to attach flowers to. Then get your Path Drawing Tool and using any colors you desire for your flowers, draw your flowers to attach to the ends of your lines. I used shape FL22 then used a yellow circle shape for the center of the flower. Don't forget to POE each flower.

  18. Path Drawing Tool - custom shape - FL11 - use a green color - and draw out several leaves to put on the stems with the flowers. POE. Right click and select all, merge as a single object.

  19. Guess what? We are finally down to doing the hair and the halo and then we will be done! I used a brownish color, feel free to make the hair color whatever, get your Path Drawing Tool and custom shape - B46 and draw out a shape for the bangs to fit the forehead. Place and POE. Use shape B13 and draw out the back part of her hair to whatever length you want. POE. Arrange and send to back. Hair is done!

  20. Outline Drawing Tool - shape elipse - width - 3 - color yellow or a gold color and draw out a shape for the halo. Place around head. POE.

HAVE FUN!!! - YOU'RE DONE!!! I hope you enjoyed this tut!
