INSTRUCTIONS:
- Open new canvas 560Wx318H.
- Path Drawing Tool - 2d - heart shape (color don't matter, I used a light gray) - draw a shape on your canvas approx 220 x 207. Duplicate this twice so you have a total of 3 hearts.
- Select one of the hearts and go up to Edit - Fill - Image - and find your preset of blue wood or whatever material you like, making sure that tile the image is ticked. Hit okay.
- Select the next heart and repeat the above only filling with the white wood. Then select the third heart and fill with the red wood.
- Set the red wood aside for the moment and select each of the other 2 hearts, right click, align, center both. Now take your eraser and set it on about 45 square, convert object to image object, then proceed to erase the top part of the white heart. Only
use one stroke down evenly as you can to a point midway. Use your undo if you make a mistake. Figure 1 shows an example.
- Now select both those hearts, right click, merge as single object. Now take your 3rd heart, the red one, click it and the previous heart, right click, align, center both. Arrange, send to back. Now take your eraser again and make some red stripes on the bottom portion of the white.
Make sure that the blue heart is selected before you erase. Select all, right click and merge as a single object.
- Back to the drawing tool, select the Outline Tool, shape - heart - and draw out a heart approx 230 x 185. Width of about 5. Duplicate this for a total of 2 then go to edit - fill and fill one with the blue wood and one with the red wood.
Use your transform tool to turn them and adjust besides the heart, then when you are satisfied, right click, arrange and send to back.
- Now back to the outline tool and choose star shaped this time and draw out a star approx 125 x 126, width 1. Go to your Stamp Tool and select stamp, I chose diamond, and set the settings as shown, size 15, spacing 30, order mode - sequential and hit Shift + p on your keyboard to paint on edges.
Right click and add shadow of 2, 1 in top 2 lines and duplicate this star and using transform tool, send one to the other side of the second star.
- Using the Path Drawing Tool again, select star shaped, color white, and draw out 3 small stars and place in top blue section of heart. When all completed, you can add shadows where you like, and right click, select all objects, merge as single object.
- I'm sure there is an easier way to do all of this but I was just playing around and came up with this so thought I would write it as I did it. Feel free to do any way you please to come up with the effect.
Another variation would be using metals for a metallic looking wall plaque. Use your imagination.
HAVE FUN!!! - YOU'RE DONE!!! I hope you enjoyed this tut!
